Matthew Bornstein is running for the Florida House of Representatives in District 114 and is emerging as a dynamic force in our community.

As an experienced Campaign Strategist, one of the highlights of Matthew’s career is his leadership in Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign in Philadelphia. There, he demonstrated his ability to inspire and mobilize more than 250 paid volunteers for a shared cause. Today, Matthew’s entrepreneurial endeavors and nonprofit advocacy demonstrate his dedication to addressing real issues and offering guidance to various organizations.

Born in Kentucky and raised in South Florida, Matthew’s upbringing has given him a profound understanding of everyday Floridians' challenges. His family endured significant hardships, such as violence, poverty, and even more difficult for Matthew to navigate was his late father’s alcohol abuse. Nevertheless, Matthew’s mother, guided the family through these difficulties, instilling perseverance, fairness, and compassion in him. Matthew became the first in his family to pursue higher education and travel abroad.

Matthew and his fiancée, Rhonny Tufino, an Ecuadorian-American professional artist, have successfully established a media production company in Miami. They are dedicated to revitalizing the arts in our city and collaborate with some of Miami’s most renowned entertainment venues. Rhonny has played a pivotal role in Matthew’s life, and together, they provide steadfast support to each other, continually motivating each other to achieve their highest aspirations. They are a perfect balance between creativity and productivity. With nearly 10 years together, their ventures have brought them shared experiences, granting them valuable insights that enrich their perspective and allow them to promote diversity, inclusivity, and equality in our community. This is the foundational structure Matt carries with him every day.

Matthew and Rhonny share a profound connection with the world, reflected in their dedication to Animal Welfare and their vegetarian lifestyle. They opened their home to Luna, a husky who was abandoned as a puppy, and now, at three years old, she is a cherished member of their family. Their commitment and compassion also span continents; they sponsor Jean, a young boy in Ecuador, ensuring he receives proper health care, education, and nutrition. This sponsorship is particularly meaningful to Matthew, who shares a birthday with Jean, adding a personal touch to their support.

Matthew’s Top Priorities are ensuring robust protection of fundamental rights, creating abundant economic opportunities, rebuilding trust in our institutions, and safeguarding our environment. He has a knack for turning big ideas into reality, and that’s exactly what he plans to do in Tallahassee and our district.

Matthew for Miami aims to actively engage with residents, listen to their concerns, and collaborate with local organizations to drive meaningful change. Matt is not your typical politician; he’s your neighbor, a listener, a doer, and our next State Representative.

It is time to stand with a leader who understands the needs of our community and is ready to get to work.
